Join Our "Flight Team"

Recently our State Director has been calling our attention to the fact that God is using this ministry not only in Alabama but also throughout the country and around the world. This is reflected in the letters from France and India that appear in the “Mailbag” section of this publication.

It is further evidenced by the cult apologetics websites that we launched last month in the Romanian language. These are the first such websites to be offered to Romanians in their native language and will be utilized by Romanians throughout the world. You can view these at http://www.watchman-fellowship.ro and at http://www.apologetica.ro. This is just one way that the support you give to the ministry of Watchman Fellowship reaches not only your city and state, but also brings hope to other parts of the world as well.

Like the young minister who wrote us from India, those needing help in other countries usually do not have the resources to get that help. Your investment in this ministry makes sure that we can do everything possible to see these needs are met, as we are made aware of them. As one of our Romanian missionaries shared with me last month:

The Church throughout Romania has a great need for the training and expertise that Watchman Fellowship has given us but lacks the financial resources to help us carry out this mission. We must have the help of the American Church if we are going to take this ministry to the people of Romania.

While it is true that we have many needs to address in our own area, the images we see on our televisions (especially during this time of war) and the messages we receive from believers in other countries remind us that God has blessed us with the responsibility and opportunity to carry the real Jesus and the only real hope throughout the world. God has given us a talented ministerial and support staff that is more than capable of producing the needed materials and providing the necessary counseling and training. However, to get them to where they are needed will require the help of many.

Recently I read a story about the dependence geese have upon one another when they are in a “V” flight pattern. I learned that the pattern they fly in actually makes their flight easier and allows them to travel much farther than they could alone or with just a few. I also learned that every goose in the formation serves a purpose that benefits the entire flock. They function as a team where every member is needed.

As I thought about this, I realized that our ministry is very much like this and our supporters are very much a part of our “flight team.” Like geese out of formation, without you we would have to work much harder to cover much less distance at a much slower rate.

I am asking you to pray about your part in our “flight team” and, through your financial investment, to give the gift of hope—the real Jesus!
